Millennials Interested In Starting A Family Should Move To Kissimmee

Kissimmee is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and is already starting to draw the interest of millennials. Home prices in Kissimmee are lower than in nearby Orlando and according to Zillow, the median prices homes sold for in the area is $193,900 which is well below the national median prices of $240,500.  Millennials who want to start a family would be off to a good start investing in a first home in the Kissimmee area, which is projected to see home values grow in an upwards of three percent.

Employment is also a factor for millennials when they consider where to start a family, with extra mouths to feed, this carries as much weight as home values. The Kissimmee area already has two of the biggest employers in Florida with Disney and Universal Studios located there. There is also a massive distribution center for Wal Mart in nearby Haines City which offers steady employment to over nine-hundred employees. The average salary in Kissimmee is $72,220 a year according to Indeed, which with lower home costs and no state income tax makes it an attractive place to live.

There are an abundance of local and state parks in the Kissimmee area where a young family can take their children to play for little or no cost. Areas like Lake Kissimmee let you experience the Florida wilderness within a few miles from home. No mention of activities in Kissimmee would be complete without mentioning the theme parks in the area. Disney, Universal and Sea World all offer annual passes that can be paid for monthly and have additional discounts for Florida residents. Millennials can take their children to the theme parks and not be concerned with the costs of hotel rooms or even dining. After a day of visiting Mickey, the kids can eat supper at home and sleep in their own beds. Many people move to Florida for the sun and sand and Millennials are no exception. Both the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico are about a two-hour drive from Kissimmee, which makes for an easy day trip.

Another thing that millennials look for is internet accessibility. Kissimmee has numerous hotels, restaurants, and parks that offer free wi-fi. The website Open Wi-fi lists twenty-nine free wi-fi locations in Kissimmee, but there are likely many more locations that offer the service. A frugal young investor could run a business from their laptop without ever having to pay for wi-fi themselves. Millennials are also known for their dislike of driving, and Florida is at the forefront of developing driverless car technology on their roadways. Transmitters to communicate with autonomous cars are being installed and tested across the state.

Kissimmee is undergoing a renaissance at the moment, and just like young Millennials and their families, has a bright future ahead.
